A little bit about me…
Before you tell me a little bit about you, let me tell you a little bit about me…
So hey, my name’s Lauranne. I’m a passionate photographer from Switzerland. But of course, I haven’t always been. There’s a start to everything, right? :)
I wasn’t born with a camera in hand, and my passion didn’t just strike me one random day. So let’s go back in time and let me tell you the story of how it REALLY started. Shall we?
As a kid, well I was like any other kid really, I just loved to take my parent’s camera and click on all the buttons, and pouf, magic happened, a photo was taken (more like a hundred blurry failed photographs, but whatever). So I can’t say this is where it started for me. What really happened is that I loved dogs (shocker, I know). And I met a dog in particular, in 2014, when she was still a puppy. Ginger.
As any person who loves to have memories of everything, physical memories to go back to and reminisce about, I had to capture these moments that would never come back, of course Ginger wouldn’t stay a puppy forever. So I took tons of pictures with my iPod 4. Until I thought I could take as many photos but with better quality, so I bought myself my first camera, the canon IXUS 155. And I wanted to take the best shots of Ginger. Therefore, I had to practice on still objects first, of course. Flowers, mountains, nature… Everything I would see, I would take a photograph of.
But taking photos of everything made me love the art of seeing details I wouldn’t have normally seen, and capturing them through my lens.

The years passed, I got better at my craft, and my camera wasn’t enough to keep progressing anymore. So I got myself a Canon 600D, with which I learned pretty much all of the basics of photography that I’m still using to this day, and when I learned everything I could with that camera, I got myself the biggest gift ever, my actual camera, the Canon 6D mark ii.
My dogs are what kept me going. What made my passion for this craft grow stronger and stronger. They gave me the will to keep as many memories as possible. The will to keep learning. The will to make memories beautiful, in the form of a photograph.
I have come a long way since capturing moments on my iPod 4. I am definitely not done learning, but I believe I now know plenty to help YOU capture YOUR memories too.
